About

Welcome to Indie Film Lab — a space where filmmaking meets community, creativity, and collaboration.

I’m Joseph Eulo — an independent filmmaker, educator, and community builder based in New York City. Over the past 15 years, I’ve worn many hats in the film world: director, producer, cinematographer, editor, and mentor. I’ve worked on everything from narrative shorts and indie features to documentaries, music videos, and live-streamed events. My journey has taken me through film sets, classrooms, and creative communities, but at the heart of it all, my passion has always been the same: telling powerful stories and helping others do the same.

Why Indie Film Lab?

Indie Film Lab was born out of a simple idea: that filmmaking doesn’t belong behind studio gates — it belongs to everyone with a story to tell. This is a place where we break down the craft of filmmaking into approachable, hands-on lessons. Where indie creators can learn, experiment, and grow. Where community and kindness are just as important as gear and technique.

What I Believe

  • Shoot With What You Got: You don’t need Hollywood budgets to tell meaningful stories. Resourcefulness is one of a filmmaker’s greatest tools.
  • Leading With Kindness: Filmmaking is collaboration at its core. I believe in building respectful, supportive sets and communities.
  • Every Frame Counts: From framing a shot to writing a line of dialogue, the details matter — because that’s where the truth of the story lives.
